Here's how you pair your phone with your Ram truck

As a new Ram dealer serving drivers from Souderton to Philadelphia, we get asked Ram truck-related questions on a daily basis. But while questions like "How much can the Ram 1500 tow?" and "Is the new Ram 2500 the right truck for an independent contractor?" are all too common, perhaps one of the most frequent questions we field from new Ram owners from Quakertown to Collegeville is, "How do I pair my phone to my Ram truck?" Luckily, we're just tech-savvy enough to answer that question.

Now, some of the most powerful features for phone connectivity out there are available on our newest Ram trucks, namely Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so the first thing you'll need to do is make sure your Ram truck is equipped with them. For the Ram 1500, both those features are available on the Big Horn and higher trims, and for the Ram 2500 and Ram 3500, they're available on the Laramie and Higher trims.

Next you'll need to download the Apple CarPlay app on your iPhone or the Android Auto app on your Android device. Do so just as you would with any other app by accessing the Appstore or Google Play Store.

Once you have the app installed, connect your phone to the Uconnect infotainment system via your phone's charging cable. Once the vehicle detects the connection, you'll receive a prompt on screen to connect your phone. Accept the prompt and you should be all set to use your phone with your Ram truck!
