UConnect Software Update

UConnect Security Software Update
UCONNECT | July 22, 2015

Chrysler recently announced a software patch for 8.4-inch touchscreen UConnect systems to prevent the ability for the system to be hacked.  We have been fielding a lot of phone calls about this recall.  You can go to and check to see if your vehicle may need this software patch.  Enter all 17 digits of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) into lookup tool.  If an update is required, you can download the software to a USB drive (4GB or larger) and then install it on your UConnect system following the instructions provided on the website.

Plan ahead as updates can take up to 30-45 minutes and require that your vehicle be parked throughout the software update/installation process.  Or, if you prefer, you can make an appointment at the Bergey's Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Service Department and we can handle the installation.

Please bear with us, our service department is very busy and the recall announcement has tied up our our phones lines.  We are doing our best to answer customer questions and address concerns.

Please keep in the mind the ability to hack a vehicle is not easy.  It took the two security researchers months to tap into and control certain systems of SUV.  They are experts.
